Just because National Nutrition Month is coming to an end, doesn’t mean the theme Fuel for the Future needs too. There are so many different ways you can continue to fuel your future through nutrition and wellness. Here’s some inspiration to continue with the theme from New Jersey Registered dietitians.
Registered Dietitian Jackie Ranalli said, “I think of our children and how they eat. I want to advocate for healthy, sustainable, fuel knowledge for our next generation. If they learn to fuel well for themselves then they will continue that knowledge to fuel for the future!”
Patricia Kolesa, RD wrote “Fuel for the Future to me, not only means having a sustainable diet long term, but this also includes thinking differently about the way we fuel ourselves. Meaning, having an open mind to what a balanced diet and exercise can look like to each person individually, while supporting how each person decides to manage their overall health.”
For Registered Dietitian Lachelle Miller, “As the granddaughter of a black farmer, fuel for the future means celebrating farmers efforts in creating a nourishing, sustainable food system to feed the clients we serve. It takes a team to provide safe and nutritious foods for future generations to come”
Lauren Miller RDN, CDCES thinks, “Fuel for the Future means nourishing the body with proper food and liquids, moving the body with daily exercise, and recharging the body with sleep. When these components are achieved, the body can function properly, go further and be stronger.”
Katelyn Wilson RDN, specializing in gut health says “Fuel for The Future means that choices made about nutrition today need to be sustainable for a lifetime. As a GI dietitian, I may help clients make nutrition changes to help with their digestive symptoms in the short-term. However, these changes are always made with the future in mind so they can broaden their diet as much as possible.”
Finally NJAND President and Registered Dietitian Jane Pilanski states, “To me, Fuel for the Future means eating with the health of our planet in mind. It means promoting sustainability practices to improve the health of future generations.”
